Smoking around Durham bus station
Concern:
Smoking at the entrance of the Durham central bus station. I can't move in and out of the station without walking through a cloud of smoke.
Solution:
No smoking within 20 feet of the bus station entrance. The security present should enforce this.

Make the law re using mobile phones in cars work.
Concern:
Too many drivers continue to flout the law re using a mobile phone whilst driving. The current penalties are no longer a sufficient deterrent to get these people to obey the law.
Solution:
Penalties for the using an in-hand mobile phone whilst driving should be increased to £500 + 3 points endorsement on the driving licence. A large fine will be a greater deterrent than points are.
